Marvellous Mosaic National Art Exhibition 2015
11 September – 18 October, Bottle Creek Gallery, Pataka Art + MuseumThe Bottle Creek Gallery hosted the fourth national mosaic art exhibition between 11 September and 18 October. Building on the success of the third national exhibition at Pataka in 2013, this exhibition featured an even more diverse range of vibrant mosaic works from professional and emerging mosaic artists across New Zealand. Capturing New Zealand and international themes, artists used the skills of mosaic craft to create works using a broad range of materials from tile, glass, mirror, pebbles, hand crafted tiles, found objects and even toast.
Sandra Holmes, a fabulous artist who attended one of my classes some years ago won the overall Exhibition Award for her piece titled "At the going down of the sun". She also won best new entrant and 3 Dimensional Art. Well done Sandra.

New Product - Starter Kits
My new product, Starter Kits, contain a mixture of quality vitreous glass tiles, wheeled glass tile cutters, quality adhesive and grout. These are a great way to get started or make a great gift. They come in two sizes: 300 tiles or 150 tiles.
Mosaic Tip
Are your wheeled nipper blades dull? Here's how to avoid this:
1) Mark the spot where the wheels meet;
2) Every month or so rotate the blades just past the marks; and
3) Mark again. Repeat as often as needed and you will have sharp blades + know when to replace them!
