From the moment you arrive in Queensland via the Brisbane International Airport you are greeted by wonderful mosaic art.
A friend has been holidaying in Queensland and told me that many parks have wonderful examples of mosaic art. Here are a few you may be interested in visiting.
Emerald Mosaic Pathway - A mosaic pathway depicting the history of the area, beginning with the indigenous Dreamtime.
Capricorn Highway, Morton Park, Emerald QLD 4720, Australia 21 tiles created by local artists to describe 100 years of Emerald’s history. The local Aboriginal people, the Murri, designed several mosaics about the dreamtime, before and after white settlement, and the future. |
Theodore - situated on the Dawson River just off the Leichhardt Highway, 565 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
Junction park is a green leafy, tree studded park flanked by Dawson River and Castle Creek. Here you will find a wonderful mosaic wall created by the community. A true testament to the community spirit in Theodore. |
