Beginner Patterns
These free mosaic patterns are great for beginners because you do not need any special tools, nor is there any cutting involved.  These beginner patterns will give you the basic techniques used in the direct method of mosaics.

Just gather together your tiles, adhesive, base surface and grout and begin your mosaic journey.

Trivet
This simple yet beautiful project can be used as a centre piece on your dining table or use it as a hot plate on your bench.

I have used four shades of blue but please choose a colour scheme that fits in with your decor.

I have also used glass tiles because of their beauty and because, unlike ceramic tiles, they do not stain and are heat resistant.

Tea Light
There are two projects to choose from - one using broken ceramics and the other using metallic glass tiles.

Stepping Stone to Success
This stepping stone uses 10mm vitreous tiles but you could easily use 20mm.
I love the basket weave pattern and you could make a series of these stepping stones by moving the colours around in the design.
