Until 13 years ago my creative outlet had always been gardening but I did not consider myself creative.  With my family grown up I found I had more time on my hands and wanted to explore new ways of expressing myself.  By accident I tried my hand at mosaic.

We had an old concrete tub left over from a house renovation that was sitting out in the garden – what to do with it?

I decided to mosaic it.   I wasn’t sure I’d be able to and had no clue as to how to go about it.

I gathered broken china, old jewellery and bits and bobs and used concrete to stick it all on.  Aside from the fact that the concrete wrecked havoc with my hands I was very satisfied and proud of my effort and the tub still has pride of place in my garden.

I was eager to learn more.  I began to scour libraries for books on mosaics and tried my hand at many more projects.

I didn't have a special place to work, nor any special tools, I just had passion … I had been bitten by the mosaic bug.

What started out as a hobby has now become a major focus in my life and Everything Mosaic was born.

If you would like to try mosaics it will be my privilege to share my experience and knowledge with you and to guide you each step of the way.
